Is there a statute of limitations on statiutory rape?
My son is 18 and he got a girl that is 15 pregnant. It is illegal in the state but only if the parents choose to file on my son. How long do they have to file if they choose to do so?

Different states in this country have different statutes of limitations for a criminal action for stautory rape ranging from 5 to 10 years running from the date the minor turns 18 years of age. In Texas the time period is 10 years.
As such, it appears that under Texas law your son has a 13 year time period hanging over his head for any stautory rape charges to expire.
