Unless this action violates an exisiting employment contract/union agreement or in some way constitutes legally actionable discrimination (which it does not appear to), your employer has done nothing wrong. The fact is that in an "at will" work relationship, a business can set the conditions of employment much as it sees fit and deems appropriate.
