You have skipped many steps from "indictment" to "sentencing." And they are very important steps. Once someone is indicted and arrested then they are arraigned where they are brought before a Judge and asked to plead guilty or not guilty. If they are pleading not guilty then they are entitled to a hearing on bail, and a trial on the matter of guilt. Sentencing only comes after a guilty plea and an alocution (a statement made on the record by the person that they have admitted guilt) or a guilty verdict by a jury of their peers. You need legal help here. If you can not afford legal help them an attorney should have been appointed for you. Prisoners have a right to a speedy trial regardless. Get help. Good luck.
