Received a Notice of Commencement of Chap 11 Bankruptcy Case

I received a letter about a meeting of creditors and fixing of certain dates for Case No. 08-13432 for Constar International Inc. What the heck is this? Would I receive this letter only if I have investments with them, and if so, how do I find out how much I have invested with them?

You received it because they have listed you as a creditor (usually means they owe you something or you have an account with them -- they are holding your money).  So, contact the listed attorney or trustee on the notice.
