Should I plead no contest regarding a speeding ticket?
I got a speeding ticket driving 55 in a 35 mph residential zone. The ticket is $448. I have a clean driving record so this would be my first time getting pulled over and receiving a ticket. This being in VA, the officer could have given me a reckless but did not. I was just wondering if pleading no contest in court give me a reduced fee and not raise my car insurance?

Driving 20 mph over the limit in VA, you could get 6 points on your license, which will have a significant impact on your insurance. Go to court and speak to the prosecutor: if you have a clean record, as you indicate, there is a very good chance that he or she will let you plead to a lesser offense with fewer points (e.g. fewer miles over the limit).
