a review or any similar type situation can be taped with the consent of all parties involved, You cannot tape something like this without notifying the other party and having them agree to said taping.
If your employer refuses and you want to pursue it you can always contact a local attorney who can represent youand make a case to the employer that you be able to record the review. However oftentimes an employer will have no problem with this and agree
