What to do if I was terminated for theft and now owe about $800 to my former employer?

A few weeks ago LP had a talk with me and I admitted the theft. After he stated he already knew that I did steal items from my store. It was a stupid mistake and one that I regret doing but he asked me a variety of questions like,

1) If you signed an agreement to repay, they can possibly enforce it as a contract against you--it depends on exactly what you signed.
2) Even if they can't enfore the agreement, if you stole from them, they can sue you for the value of what you took--the law holds people who steal liable, or responsible, for the cost of what they took. The main difference compared to 1) is that here, they'd have to prove the value in court, rather than relying on the agreement.
3) Theft is also a crime: you can be reported to the police, and charges may be filed.
