If the association for my subdivision placed a lien on my house for dues and I paid them, am I also responsible for paying an additional fee to remove the lien?
I paid the fees and late charges a year ago. Now the association is stating I owe a $144 if I want the lien removed. This is amount was not in the original amount.

Under the laws of all states in this coutnry once you have paid the lien recorded on your unit by the HOA, it is the obligation for the HOA to pay the costs for removing the lien recorded on your property, not you. I would write the HOA of the need to do such by a stated date. Keep a copy of the letter for future reference and need.
