If the rental office sent me a monthly bill with the incorrect amount for 3 months, am I now obligated to pay them $600 for their mistake?

I was told by the property manager that my lease was incorrectly put into the system. Because of this, the bills that I received were incorrect and that I would have to pay them $600 up front. I thought that a bill was a legal binding contract?

If the rental office sent you a bill containing a $600 error in its favor as admitted by its representative, I fail to see the logic for you to pay such a erroneous bill. I would simply write the rental office a letter confirming its representative's admission that the $600 bill was in error and that you do not need to pay it.

Keep a copy of the letter for future us and need.
