In KS, only if your employer has a policy or practice that employees will be paid for unused vacation time, is a worker entitled to payment for such time. Accordingly, unless your former employer has such a policy or this pay is mandated under the terms of an employment contract or union agreement, you need not be given it. The fact is that a company can set the conditions of the workplace much as it sees fit (absent some form of legally actionable discrimintion).
