What are the laws concerning management positions and salary wages?
I work for a non-profit which recently made all their salaried management positions hourly so that they didn’t need to bump up their pay to meet the new minimum salary wages. I’ve been told that it is illegal for someone in a management position to be hourly. I am in Arizona and I’m not sure what the details of this are or how true.

It is perfectly legal for management to be hourly; any worker or employee, even the CEO, to be paid hourly; the law does not specify how people must be paid or who must get salaries. As an hourly employee, a manager would be eligible for overtime when working more than 40 hours in a week.
