What can I do about an NSF/stop payment check?
I was recently paid, via check, the amount of $750 for services rendered for a painting job. I promptly deposited the check at my credit union, only to find out several days later and after I had spent some of the money that the check has come back NSF. I have suspicions that the person who issued the check maliciously put a stop on it because I was not returning to work for him. Is there anything that I can do about this? I now have no money left in my account and have bills coming in.

1) You can look to press chares for passing a bad check; that may put pressure on them to actually pay.
2) You can sue (such as in small claims court, acting as your own attorney or "pro se") for the money they owe you.
