What can I do about my landlord if they agreed to pay half of the cost torecarpet myhome but now isn’t owning up to the obligation?
The carpet was old and had started mildewing. It messed up funiture and had property smelling foul. He never wants to fix anything and always have an excuse about it.

If your landlord promised you a new carpet where he would pay half the cost for it, I would write him a letter each month reminding him of the promise and the need to get it done. Keep a copy of the letters sent him for future reference.
I would also start sending him some patterns and colors for the carpet that you want. Unfortunately, if the landlord does not want to install new carpet, there does not seem to be a lot that you can do.
