"Guardianship" can mean different things in different situations.  Generally it refers to a relationship between an individual (or individuals) appointed by a court to care for a party under 18 years old (a minor).  In some instances it can mean a person over 18 as well (but many states refer to those appointed as "conservators".)  Guardians can either be in charge of the "person" or the "estate" or both. The "person" means making decisions that have to do with the parties personal care, medical treatment, etc.  The "estate" means the money.  Good luck.
