What is the statute of limitations on a personal injury case
Last November a neighbor had a lead pipe
sticking out of the back of his truck
and I walked into it in the dark while I
was walking my dogs. I ended up in the
ER and I am still having issues with my
eyes that I would like to follow up on.
I am already out of pocket about
2000.00 for the dr visits so far but
the last time I had my eyes checked the
dr told me I needed therapy for my eyes.
I would like to see if the neighbors
would pay for this.

1) The statute of limitations, or SOL, for a personal injury is two years, so you would still be within time to sue.
2) However, if you walked into the pipe, you are unlikely to win the case. You cannot recover compensation for your own negligence or carelessness, and dark or not, it is generally considered negligent to walk into a stationary object.
