If my daughter was hurt and I took her to the emergency room, am I liable to the hospital and doctors if her father refuses to pay?

Our custody agreement is clear that the father is responsible to carry medical insurance and for all uninsured medical expenses. He holds the medical insurance and that was provided to the hospital. He has not yet met his deductible so they send me a bill for $1,500. It is in his name but they have my address since I brought her in.

The short answer is that he is responsible to $750, half of the bill.
