Who is responsible for paying for home repairs involving a quitclaim deed and reservation of life estate?
My Mom surprised me a few years ago with a quitclaim deed and reservation of life
estate for the home she owned. She has continued to live there and pay for home
maintenance until recently. She now wants me to pay for these repairs. In
Tennessee who is legally responsible for these payments, her or me?

The quitclaim deed released your mother's entire right, title, and interest in the property to you. Since you have a life estate, you are responsible for paying for the home maintenance repairs, taxes and other costs. Your mother is not responsible for the home maintenance repairs, taxes or other costs pertaining to the property.
