This is hard to give guidance on with out understanding what proceeded the order and with out reading the order.   But grandparents have statutory rights in your state that are pretty far reaching.  Even if a child is adopted by a step parent the parents of the natural parent can an still petition for visitation.  Every decision is made "in the best interests of the child."  If you are confused you should speak with an attorney.  Good luck.

Whether or not your son's father gets supervised visits with the minor depends upon whether or not you allow such and of not, will the court allow such in the event there is a petition by the father seeking such. You need to realize that the policy in this country is to foster parent child relations assuming that the parent is not a danger to the child.
